Transponders added for 2012 amateur racing at Parts Canada TransCan Grand National Championship

– Posted in: Years Past

The Parts Canada TransCan has partnered with Chronométrage Lap Timing (CLT Sports Timing) to bring transponder scoring to our 2012 amateur racers.

“We will be using the same transponder scoring system that has been successfully used at the AMXQ races in Quebec this season with many positive reviews. We are excited to add a new level of professionalism to the TransCan and to offer fans and spectators a new way to keep up with what’s happening on the track,” said Walton’s Chris Lee.

For a $10 fee, riders will be issued their transponders at Tuesday’s rider sign-up. Riders will also need to leave an $80 refundable cash deposit. Transponders are mandatory for all riders and will be tested during Wednesday’s practice and then used for scoring all amateur races during the event. CLT uses Orion transponders only.

Thanks to the support of the Celebrate Ontario initiative, video screens will be located in the infield and will broadcast timing and scoring information during all motos. This new addition will greatly enhance the spectator experience and help fans and families keep track of their favourite riders.
