Walton Raceway Wins Track of the Year!
Walton Raceway home of the Walton TransCan Grand National Championships, came away with the 2019 Rockstar Energy Triple Crown Series Track of the Year Award.
The final round of the 2019 Rockstar Energy Triple Crown Series took place October 22, 2019 in Hamilton, Ontario. The champion, 2019 King Of Walton winner Phil Nicoletti, took home the Rockstar Triple Crown Championship and the $100,000.00 grand prize.
Sunday the series celebrated the riders, supporters and events. Walton Raceway and the 2019 Walton TransCan Grand National Championships came away with the 2019 Track of the Year award.
“We were very surprised!” said Melody Hodgson of Walton Raceway. ”Obviously Brett and I poured our hearts into this, took some real chances and were blessed with great support. It has been great working with the Jetwerx team these last two years. It is a real honour to be recognized by our community.”
Walton pushed new ideas and approaches that help elevated the event in 2019. Motosport Racing Canada (MRC) National Series Manager Ryan Gauld was quick to point out some of those ideas. “The approach with social media, the idea around the holiday aspect of the event and the push to elevate not only Walton Raceway but the sport of motocross is what made Walton the Track of the Year.”
The Walton Raceway team has begun working with the entire Jetwerx, MRC regions, racers and supporters for 2020. ”This year felt like one team pulling in a common direction.” said Walton’s Brett Lee. “Thank you to all our friends and staff, especially track manager Barry Hetherington, our sponsors, the riders, the Jetwerx pro series staff, national race teams and of course, the media. Everyone really came together to make this event great. Without them none of this would be possible.”
The 2020 Rockstar Energy Series will be announced shortly. With more excitement and heightened commitment to building Canadian Motocross and Walton TransCan Grand National Championships into prominent must-attend events in 2020.
