Track manager: With international event experience in Ireland and Canada, is a certified chef and runs all facility maintenance for Walton Raceway. Barry has owned his own track previously and is skilled in heavy equipment operation and repair.

Walton Raceway is firmly established atop the schedule of every competitive motocross racer, motorsports enthusiast and action sport industry leader. With 45 years of operating experience,  under the guidance of a 2nd generation of management and with progressive investment, this spacious, scenic recreation facility is positioned for a future of growth and innovation.

For 25 years the week of the TransCan Canadian Grand National Championship(GNC) has been a ‘must attend’ event for front running athletes from across the continent and points abroad. The treasured ‘Walton experience” is the result of an uncompromising commitment to excellence in professional event management, fully aligned with the values of international brands such as Honda, Parts Canada, Dunlop, and many more multi year partners.

The 100 event days of the Walton Raceway season runs the gamut from the Edge of Walton Challenge Course day visits for busloads of students, through the RC 5th Scale Nationals, provincial truck mud bogs, offroad motorcycles and regional motocross to the internationally attended five days of the TransCan GNC. In total, the year 2016 will see 80,000+ day visits.

Unequalled reach and engagement is the outcome of the wide geographic cross section of visitors, extensive media coverage of Walton Raceway’s flagship events and an influential role in the action sports digital community.  A national television audience will enjoy  TV  feature broadcasts in addition to real time streaming video, audio and timing to a live international audience complemented by an active social media presence.  

The 2016 TransCan GNC alone will accommodate 25,000+ day visits over the week of  Aug 17-21. A broad fan base is attracted to the mix of amateur and professional championship competition,  the outdoor, motorcycle & powersports expo, live entertainment and numerous exciting special activities. Uniquely, this has gained the recognition and support of the Ontario Ministry of Tourism Culture and Sport as a key regional demand generator. The introduction of the Canadian Pro Open is consistent with the progressive planning that has made this event the unchallenged ‘annual celebration of Canadian motocross’ for the past 24 years.
