Facility Rules and Regulations
2024 Facility Rules + Regulations
WELCOME!
Riders and their families have worked long and hard to reach this top level of competition. We want you to have a good time at the TransCan, but we also want you to have every opportunity to be your best in the competition. This means there are ground rules that everyone must follow. Failure to comply with these rules may result in your disqualification and/or removal from the event. This goes for your family, friends and pit crew as well. Remember - the rider is responsible for the actions of his/her pit crew.
ARRIVAL
Upon arrival at Gate B (42932 Walton Road, Walton, ON), vehicles must stop and check in at the Walton Raceway black tent to receive their week passes (participant, vehicle, golf cart, etc.). All persons must sign the necessary waivers before entering the facility. Our staff will place your vehicle sticker on the driver’s side of the front windshield of your vehicle for display at all times. Each permit will be assigned to a specific rider.
All riders are required to sign in during their designated times below. Minors are not required to attend registration. Registration will be held at the Solar Shed as follows:
Monday
6:00pm - 9:00pm
Tuesday
12:00pm - 6:00pm
TRANSPONDERS
All classes, excluding Tykes, are required to use transponders. It is the member’s responsibility to have your transponder up to date. This is not a Walton Raceway/AMO-related question (though we can help point you in the right direction if you need it). You must contact the folks at https://speedhiveshop.mylaps.com/tr2-mx-transponder.html for all information, inquiries, and updates related to your transponder. Please also ensure your subscription is up to date and activated before racing begins on Tuesday.
We do not sell transponders. AMO (Ryan Gauld) rents them for the week of TransCan on a first-come-first-served basis. You may reserve a transponder rental by e-transferring $50 to amoracingreloaded@gmail.com with the following information in the transfer description:
Bike #
Name
Classes
Screenshot or save the transaction for when you arrive to get the transponder.
The transponder pick-up time will be Wednesday from 9am - 5pm in the scoring trailer at the Fox Racing Amateur Finish Line. Please ensure you have picked up your transponder before your first moto on Wednesday (if you have one). This ensures your charged transponder will last until end-of-day Saturday. Transponders must be returned 30 minutes after your final moto. A credit card/license will be required to leave in the scoring trailer for the rental. Cash is also welcome to be used to rent onsite.
CAMPING AREA
You will be escorted to your camping area by a Walton TransCan staff member. You are not able to reserve a campsite for a friend. Do not use or take up space for more than one site. If you want to camp with friends, please meet them off-site and arrive together.
NON-POTABLE WATER
Non-potable water is available via a hose at the entrance to the facility (look for the big raised tanks between the portable washrooms and the black shower building). There is also a water delivery service:
Sam + Derek’s Friendly Water Delivery Service
Small tote or drum: $10
Large tote: $20
Campers: Start at $30 but are subject to change depending on the amount of water delivered.
Kiddie Pools: Free!
Hours: 8am - 8pm
Wave them down or safely approach the truck when you see them out! Prices are based on 2022 and are subject to change prior to the event starting.
DUMP STATION
August 9, 2024 - the Municipality of North Huron has emailed to let us know they have closed the dump station, unfortunately.
CAMPFIRES
Must be in a raised fire pit, minimum 12" from the ground. NO GROUND FIRES.
PUMP-OUT
A limited number of pump-outs are available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis. Pump-outs are available only on Friday and Saturday. Pump-outs can be booked by visiting the Gatehouse on Thursday and Friday between 9:00am and 12:00pm. The cost is $60 per unit. Before walking to the Gatehouse to book your pump-out, please ensure you know your street name and trailer location.
Reminder: many campers have sensors in the toilet units that can give a false reading of “full” if toilet paper is trapped in the pipes, even after the unit is pumped out.
GARBAGE
Daily 10am + 6pm
Please bag your garbage and place it at the front of your lot near the roadway. Guy and his crew will pick up your garbage for you!
Popular items that are often confused as garbage but should be taken home with you to properly dispose of:
- tires
- oil canisters
- scrap metal
- furniture (couches, recliners, broken camp chairs)
- home appliances
- anything not contained within the garbage bag. Do not lean additional refuse up against the bag.
- Broken tents (sleeping or pop-up)
- Anything your neighbourhood garbage disposal company would NOT pick up on a normal day.
Garbage barrels are not for personal campsite use.
GOLF CART PASSES
Golf Carts may be used by PERMIT ONLY and are limited to a maximum width of 64 inches. No pit bikes, mopeds, scooters, mules, ATVs, 6-wheel Gators, Razors or high-performance vehicles are permitted, as determined by the sole discretion of Walton Raceway. Operators must have a valid driver’s licence (16 years of age +).
The golf cart speed limit is 10km/hr.
Golf Cart use hours: 7:00 am - 10:00 pm daily
All passengers must be seated.
There may only be as many passengers as there are seats.
Golf Carts are PROHIBITED in the following areas:

Travelling on Walton Road (this is under the jurisdiction of the Ontario Provincial Police)
Golf Carts may not be operated in a reckless, careless or dangerous manner and may not be operated by anyone under the influence of alcohol.
Golf Cart usage is a privilege, not a right, which privilege can be revoked or terminated for any or no reason at the discretion of Walton Raceway. There are no refunds for Golf Cart Passes if your privileges are revoked.
Unauthorized pit vehicles will be confiscated for the duration of the event. A $100 daily impound fee must be paid before the release of the unauthorized vehicle upon completion of the event.
Violation of any of the above rules is grounds for a penalty, including but not limited to confiscation of pit vehicles, disqualification of the racer, and/or ejection from the facility.
Abuse of Walton Raceway staff, officials, security, or anyone authorized to act on behalf of Walton Raceway to enforce these golf cart rules will be subject to penalty, including, but not limited to confiscation of their golf cart, disqualification of the racer, and/or ejection from the facility. This includes after the completion of both Saturday and Sunday’s racing.
INFIELD ACCESS
The racetrack infield is a restricted area. Only authorized personnel may have access to the infield. Authorized personnel include:
• Officials, medics and track crew
• Credentialed Media (editorial and industry commercial)
Authorized personnel do not include:
• Rider coaches or training facility staff (those without credentials)
• Rider personal or contracted photographers/videographers
• Sponsors and industry personnel
POWER WASHERS
Power washing at campsites is permitted only if the washing does not interfere with your neighbours or create a mess. Do not wash your bikes on the roadway, this is a terrible idea.
FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
All motor homes/camping vehicles and pit rigs are required to have fully functioning fire extinguishers available in an emergency.
USED OIL
DO NOT dump oils, fuels, coolants or other waste materials on the ground. They must be disposed of properly off-site. Walton Raceway is not licensed to receive hazardous waste.
SHOWERS
The showers are open from 6:00am - 10:00pm daily. Anyone causing damage or destruction to a shower house will be subject to penalty, including, but not limited to, a monetary fine, disqualification of the racer, and/or ejection from the facility. This includes after the completion of both Saturday and Sunday’s racing. Please remember, people of all ages use the showers, including children.
QUIET
Quiet time is 30 minutes after the close of scheduled evening activities. No loud music or noise after this time, as our racers need their rest. Be considerate of your neighbours.
NO RIDING
Race bikes can only be ridden at a walking pace to/from the racetrack and back. Safety gear is required, i.e., helmet, protective eyewear, boots, pants, jersey, etc.
NO WOODS RIDING
The off-road trails are off-limits to motorized vehicles, including golf carts. These trails are open to bicycles and foot traffic only. Anyone caught violating this rule will be subject to penalty, including, but not limited to, a monetary fine, disqualification of the racer, and/or ejection from the facility. This includes after the completion of both Saturday and Sunday’s racing.
NO DRIVING IN UNDESIGNATED AREAS, ESPECIALLY IN THE FARMER’S FIELDS TO THE NORTH OF THE START LINE AND EAST OF AMATEUR CAMPING. THIS WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE EJECTION FROM THE FACILITY WITHOUT FURTHER DISCUSSION. THIS WILL ALSO RESULT IN THE IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION OF THE RACER AND INCLUDES AFTER THE COMPLETION OF BOTH SATURDAY AND SUNDAY’S RACING.
EDGE OF WALTON CHALLENGE COURSE
The climbing tower is always off-limits (excluding the Edge of Walton Kids Camp). Any persons found to be vandalizing and/or damaging the course will be fined $500.00 CAD plus the cost to repair the damages and evicted from the property immediately and permanently.
PET POLICY
All animals must be on a leash at any given time. You must pick up after your pet and dispose of their waste in a garbage barrel. Remember, this is a long, hot week, and many animals are not suited to these conditions.
No pets near the racetrack. Pets that bark or bite or otherwise are cause for concern will be required to leave the event with their humans. Pets that bark throughout the night while their owners sleep will be required to leave the event with their humans. Walton Raceway has sole discretion on whether your pet can stay.
NO FIREWORKS, FIREARMS OR PAINTBALL GUNS

LOST & FOUND
Find something? Please turn it into the Gatehouse. Did you lose something? Stop by the Gatehouse.
PROPERTY LIMITS
Our property is limited to the north side of Walton Road only. We do not own the quarry/gravel pit south of Walton Road. If you enter that property, you knowingly leave Walton Raceway and cross into private property with NO TRESPASSING signs. The OPP has been patrolling the gravel pit and will issue trespassing charges to anyone they find in breach of the private property fence line.
MEDIC STATION
Medics are located in the canvas tent at the Country Corners tunnel during racing. Medics are on site 24 hours a day; if you need after-hours care, please call 519-870-7223.
HOSPITAL DIRECTIONS
Please note that Ontario is experiencing staffing shortages in our hospitals - this is no fault of the hospital staff. Please expect above-average wait times if your emergency is not level 1-2. At times, the Emergency Rooms for Seaforth and Clinton Hospitals may have reduced hours overnight. Please check with our medics or Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance on social media before self-transporting to any hospitals in Huron County:

If you have to make a trip to one of our hospitals, please thank the staff who treat you or, at the very least, treat them with kindness. We work closely with the Seaforth Community Hospital to ensure our participants are well cared for. They have up-staffed, brought in extra supplies and received training on removing motocross gear in preparation for this week. The nurses, lab techs, x-ray technicians, admin staff, cleaning crews and doctors are wonderful people under immense pressure province-wide.
