A ride to change the Mental Health conversation in Canadian motocross.

$50,000.00 raised in five years. Join us in Walton each August as we cycle for mental health.

On July 2nd, 2018, Tanner Ward’s brother, Jeff, died by suicide in his 30th year. Jeff is the reason for Ride With Me, the annual ride for mental health and awareness held each year at the TransCan. The Ward family By demonstrating their strength and openness each year, Jeff’s family has allowed an entire industry to have a conversation.  Jeff’s legacy is a part of the fabric of TransCan.

On Saturday, August 12th, 2023 riding alongside and working with other pro athletes, industry leaders and friends within the motocross community, Tanner Ward will lead the group on a 20km bicycle ride surrounding Walton Raceway. The ride will be an opportunity to not only spread awareness but also to meet those who may also be struggling, the friends and families affected and represent an act of hope for a better future.  The ride is being held in memory of Tanner’s brother, Jeff, and everyone we have lost from mental illness.

  • Tanner Steffler Foundation

    Ride With Me official beneficary:

On June 6th, 2017 after a battle with substance use disorder, Tanner Steffler was sadly poisoned by a drug overdose at the young age of 19. Tanner’s disorder is not what defined him, rather, he was a handsome teenager, an academic student and full of life and potential. He had a great sense of humour, was a talented musician, enjoyed being with his peers, had a soft spot for his loveable bulldog and had college acceptances to fulfill his career goal of an X-ray technician. Tanner grew up in a good home, was raised with strong values, love and kindness by John and Heather Steffler, alongside siblings Davis and Charlee.

The focus of the foundation is to enhance and improve the Mental Health and Addiction resources and support networks that are in place for youth between the ages of 12-24 within Huron and Perth Counties. Youth Mental Health and Addiction is a broad area of concern for the entire healthcare, law and education partners and is an identified area of need within our community.
